Do you have a high horsepower and or high revving big block Chevy V8? An 8-rib serpentine accessory drive system is a must. Don't even think about running an old-school v-belt pulley system. Those ancient v-belts will slip, stretch and pretty much leave the chat. For lower output big blocks such as a 350HP 396 or 450HP LS6, a 6-rib serpentine conversion is acceptable. If however, you have a 1004HP ZZ632 or a high revving 600HP 509, an 8-rib accessory drive is essential.
